No more for me...

Alright can a faulty radiator cap blow the HG? If so then not even 500 miles since the completely rebuilt engine and a Blown Head Gasket something seriouly wrong with this picture. BTW 1990 Toyota Supra Turbo Might be For Sale!!

The sweet smelling clouds are just telling you that there is coolant burning. You need to find out where it is coming from in order to fix it properly. It may be a cracked head, bock, turbo etc. I've even seen people attach coolant lines to vacuum ports accidentally...

Oh, I'm not trying to suggest you don't have a big problem on your hands, just that a leakdown test might help you pinpoint the source.

It's rare that someone blows a gasket in no time ... unless they did something obviously wrong, like forget to clean out the bolt holes in the block. I mention this because it was the source of my very first head gasket failure, many moons ago on my 22R Celica engine.

Which makes me wonder if you have a crack in the head or block... I can't think of any other way offhand to get coolant in the combustion chamber.

Heres the story,
Today I was trying to burp the cooling system cause it sounds like a waterfall in the dash well I tried for a while then I killed it, Went to start it up agian and it was missing a little so I took it around the block. When I stopped and took off agian I noticed a ton of white smoke behind me, well i thought oh shit. I went home and the car was still missing and smoking a little. I shut it off and went to check the radiator. i turned the cap a little and it had so much pressure that it set and hissed out of it for about 3 mins. Now if I start it I get a bad miss and a tons of white smoke...

How does a leakdown test work?

Leakdown tester is a little fitting that screws into your spark plug hole, that allows you to pressurize the cylinder. If the cylinder doesn't hold pressure, you can check the rad for bubbles, the head / oil dipstick tube for hissing... lets you know whether you have a problem with your head, block, or into your coolant system. Also which cylinder is the culprit, if it's just one.

i went through the same problem with my rebuild..... but mine only laste 300miles before the oil and water mix. head gasket wasnt good. it was just a faulty head bolt that couldnt hold down its torque.

Grab one the the BHG test kits from an autoparts store and find out for sure.

If there are combustion gasses in the coolant you can be pretty certain it's a BHG/cracked head.

No use getting the razor for your wrists until you know for sure.

#2 cylinder is puking water, none of the brand new ARP studs had much torque on them and I know that we torqued them at 85lbs. I went ahead and torqued them down to 100lbs and im gonna see if it stops leaking but it is a very long shot, I might end up with a blown head gasket anyway.... :(
