Hey guys, finally got around to posting a little bit about my car, (again lol) at the insistence of JDMMA70.
I got my 88 7mgte targa in homo blue from the original owner in January 2014 after a DUI-asshole totaled my parked 86 1/2.
My first mission with the new whip was to replace the head gasket using arp hardware, have the head machined, and replace most hoses and gaskets.
Aside from fixing minor quirks and doing maintenance, my next undertaking was installing a 3" catback, test pipe, and BIC DDP.
June 2014 consisted of an a/c replacement and r134-a conversion with the always appreciated help of certified a/c tech JDMMA70.
July brought a couple of great things. Limo tint and Mk.4 N/A wheels.
And as of today, August 11th, I upgraded to a Scion T1807 and 5" Polk coaxials all around.
Early September brought a GReddy ProFec B-Spec II boost controller, putting me at a consistent 10psi of boost.
October 26th brought my first dyno run! Thanks to Autobahn Motorsports for holding a private dyno day for the Houston Supra club.
I hope to upgrade to coilovers in the coming months and EGT and A/F gauges to conclude 2014. I'll try and keep y'all updated. Honestly I see myself owning this chassis forever. Ever since my first car, the red n/a, I've been bitten by the Supra bug, and even better, the Mk.3 bug.
p.s: Immeasurable gratitude towards JDMMA70 for countless hours of troubleshooting, assistance and his incredible knowledge of the 7M.
