i have a quick question about plugs i was reading a thread by another member and noticed that my car did the same thing only in different gears...

i thought that you couldn't gap iridium plugs and that you are suppose to leave the gap alone as to not mess up the iridium tip.

any response would be great.

i had the same question when i bought mine... but i ended up not gapping them and they ran fine. there are a few on here that said you can gap them, its just that they are really easy to break.

Just have to be very careful with the centre electrode and make sure you don't touch it.

A point on IR plugs if you crank the boost up you can get plug overheating and a high rpm miss.

I just dropped my Iridiums in with no gapping. I am running 12 psi on a stock turbo and fuel set-up. Smooth as glass.

i am running them they are pregapped, usually double check, i measured them and they were all within spec, car runs smooth as hell. Not enough boost on my engine to overheat them.

Nope what I think is happening with the fine tip IR's at sustained high rpm/boost is the centre tip is glowing and can't reject the heat and starts to glowplug so a change in heat range won't help.
