BHG - done. Rear struts & alignment - done. Now for taking care of original '90 leather seats in POOR condition. The seats have obviously never been cared for, with lots of worn panels and ripped seams. I'm starting to look into options and here are a few if anybody can offer advice for or against any:

1. Upholstery from JC Whitney (or another?). These are made for the MKIII and should be ready for me to install for $500 in vinyl - color customizable and with door panels included. Does anybody have experience with this? URL: http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/...2007065/N-111+600003379+20004541+1990/c-10101

2. Seat Covers. JC Whitney also lists a high end set of covers - $139 front and $139 rear. Sounds alright, but I plan to drive this car for a while and I think the seats will deteriorate beneath the covers. Any thoughts? I guess cheap covers are another option.

2. Upholstery Shop. I've been referred to a local shop that supposedly does good work cheap. Thing is I don't have a clue what "cheap" is. What could I expect for front and rear seats? I don't mind going cloth to save a few $, so what to expect in cloth/vinyl/leather would be helpful.

3. After Market Seats. I've looked around, and this is really my least favorite option. I have and like the power lumbar option and the shape of the seats. I don't really want to spend any more than I need to and the $500 in option 1 is about it. After market seats might be alright, but probably not in the price range I'd like to stay in, unless somebody has a good suggestion.

Thanks for your input. -Kurt

ya i got a really good deal. keep in mind the guy that did them kinda runs a shadey sweat shop kind of thing with all illegal aliens working... he's an illegal himself and lives out of his own upholstery shop, so obviously his overhead is very low LOL

if anyone in socal wants a hookup, i'd be happy to introduce you to him, they do very good work, and the price can't be beat. he was going to charge me $300 for the rear seats, i may get it done in a few months but my rears for now aren't in too bad of shape.

I work for Florida Automotive Restyling http://www.floridaautomotiverestyling.com/

We're a company very similar to Unique Whips. We do all the leather installs, custom fabrications with stereos, interiors, sunroofs, you name it. If it has nothing to do with performance, WE CAN DO IT!! Check out the web site to give you an idea of what we do.

We are a certified supplier of Katzkin.com leather. They do make a kit for the Supra. You can get it in almost any color you want. 2-tone, suede, all leather, 50/50 leather/vinyl, ostrich, etc. You can chose the color of thread used to stich the kit. All kinds of stuff.

$600 is an awesome price. I know you dont live any where close to Jacksonville, FL but here is what a reall shop would sell it for. Unfotunately you're lucky if you can even get the kit for that much. Normaly retail cost at our shop installed is $1399. I think Katzkin.com shows a list of authorized dealers in your area or you can call them to find out. This might help with your desicion and a shop.

Word of advice. DON'T get anything but Katzkin! From experience, it's the best feeling leather and the most durable!! There are other companies but i'm not even sure if they make it for our cars.

Let me know if you have any other questions that I can answer!

I don't like the idea of supporting illegal immigrants, you're essentially screwing yourself out of tax money when you do. I'd much rather go somewhere else and pay more knowing that they're law-abiding tax-paying citizens. Just my .02

Recovering the factory seats will make your car feel brand new - as long as the rest of your interior isn't trashed.

Seat covers are so 70s.
