hey,

my name is john and i just bought an mkiii not too long ago. I did not know anything about this car prior to the purchase. I was in an accident due to a careless driver who ran a red and hit my car (*he had a suspended license, and 4 citations by the end of the night) so i needed something real quick to get me to school and back. i have only owned 240sx's up until now. i just found out about the 7m's poor head gasket design and I'm sure my car has a bhg. Seriously I've only drove this car for 50 miles before i decided not to drive it anymore cause the bhg freaked me out and i did not want to see this car go to waste.

-89 black mkiii (auto)
-about 139000 miles on it
-bought for $1000
-power everything (pretty clean interior *no tears*)

-bought new gasket set and crank seal.


if there is any advice anyone can give me, i would greatly appreciate it.

Hey welcome to the site, John. My advice is to read, read and read some more abt other people's BHG experiences, so you have a good idea what to do abt the bhg and how to do it. By the way, we don't get tired of looking at Supras, so post a few pics when you get a chance. Good luck.

I agree, post some pics and about the BHG. After you're done the reading and you think you know enough, read some more.

It isn't the hardest thing in the world but on the other hand it's something you want to do right, and only once.

Do a search with the keyword 'BHG' or Blown Head Gasket or any variations in between.
