Very cool, I will have to look up IJ and see if he has a build thread!
Pretty sure he took the build thread down... if you ask the right questions and your build attracts his attention, he's likely to be of great help. :)

Ok well I will have to see what I can do. But after a few days of lots of research I am kind of on the fence with a 2jz or a 1uz, buying a 1uz is much cheaper, lighter and should move the weight balance back. There is a local 1uz for $550.

Like I mentioned earlier I would like to be even to the power levels I have in the GT-R so about .16rwhp/lb with driver

If I can get the Supra down to 3075lbs with driver I would like to have about 495whp, obviously the earliest power and torque band possible, seems like kind of an odd question, do people want really peaky power bands? lol.

I guess the better question is what are you power goals and what sort of power band are you looking for?

3075 lbs? Ambitious, but certainly possible. For a car focused on handling and response, I would recommend the 1uz. Lighter, shorter, higher compression, and the earlier engines were VERY overbuilt. There is a guy on here (I forget his name) who boosted a 1uz in his Mk3, the results are pretty awesome if I do say so myself. Even in NA form, they're a nice engine. Found out today that mine has enough power at 1800rpm to fry the rears through the slushbox... for what that is worth.

The ONLY downside I can see to the UZ approach is the relative lack of aftermarket support for the engine. If you can tune it however, it is a great platform. That, and if you want cams, you have to buy 4 of them. I believe Kelford makes some for the engine though...

Looks nice man, and somehow you have managed the impossible: To make Godzilla look like just another lizard, size wise. :p
