new tps still won't run

got a new tps for my new toy (87 supra turbo) but it still won't run
got any sugestions?

TPS' are so damn annoying. If the mkIII ts are anything like mkIIs, you'll have to jump out the check engine connector, turn the key on and watch for the check engine light to blink. If it doesn't blink, the TPS isn't adjusted properly (stupid sensitive bastards). I have no experience w/ mkIII ts so excuse me if I sound a little ignorant, just trying to help

the guy i bought it from said it set a tps code(i can't remeber the code)
when i took the old sensor off it was worn and cracked

Did you adjust it? BTW, I started mine once with out the TPS plugged in. It ran, just idled high. So if it's not starting/running, I think you have more problems than just the TPS.

when i first got it (a couple of weeks ago) it started up and like u said it idle high. but if i gave it some gas it shut off. now it won't even crank up

^^^^What she asked. Plus, mine would still rev. So again, you have more problems than the TPS.

i'm was just trying to find a place to start looking. this is my first supra and i don't know that much about them

ok, when she cranks is it a really fast kind of cranking or a slowish normal crank? If it's a fast crank, could be a nice sign of a loose, stretched, broken timing belt.

Find out the basics first.
Spark, is she getting it?
If yes, is she getting fuel?

yes there is spark, and the cranking was normal

now that i think about it, the guy i bought it from said the car had been sitting for awhile. so the gas could be bad.
