Hi, I am new to the Supra and JDM community, I was an all american muscle guy, but they are expensive to build because I only go old school or none, lol. I have always loved the supra's, I own a 1987 Supra with a current 7mge, the car has 252K mile on it. Looking at up grading to a 7mgte in the future but for now shes just a daily driver.

Most people would replace the word JDM with Import :)

Also i'm not sure you chose the right car because you can easily spend just as much money restoring a Supra but it is worth it.

Post some pics of your ride

and Welcome to SM

yeah but the supra is a whole lot better on gas then a 69 GTO and a 77 Trans Am with an olds 455 pushing 500rwhp with stock heads and running off pump gas.

I wouldn't know my supra got around 12-15 in town but i have a heavy foot lol :)

I'm sure it gets a little better.

Welcome to SM. These cars are full of suprises and expenses, I didn't think it was going to cost as much as my 64 SS Impala 4 speed, 406 sbc pushing 540 on pump gas.....I was dead wrong. Best of luck with all of your vehicles.

Welcome to the club!

You're dealing with a totally different breed of insanity here... but the first time you feel that turbo lay you back in your seat, you'll never get enough of it.

And to counteract your thoughts of being cheaper, be careful because that one may bite you in the @$$. ;-)
These cars are heavily capable of making obscene amounts of power with moderately upgraded parts...
But be forewarned; when you start doubling and tripling the power this car originally came with, expect the unexpected as far as breaking random little factory parts goes.

Enjoy!

Well said sir. I regret ever thinking that this car was a good idea I figured it was cheap!

yeah I have noticed that, thats why before I start doing upgrades some if not all the factory parts will get replaced in the suspension, braking and motor dept lol. I am looking forward to getting into it as soon as I have gotten all the parts, time and money. I know how a supercharger feels below you gas pedal so I can't wait for a turbo. Plus I want to put some of the little honda civic and ecplipse drivers back in the're rightful spot......in my rear view mirror lol. I have brosed around here and its so nice to find an online site that is so helpful and welcoming.
