Doing an introduction post so I dont get my account deleted for not posting since I like to do research before posting a question and these cars are old enough that almost any qestion has been answered.

So.... I recently bought a 87 Supra (7mgte) as a platform to start my next AutoX car. I know it is probably not the best choice how ever it seemed like a fun car to drive. I currently drive a 09 VW GLI as my daily which I also AutoX now but I have a kid on the way and need to keep it a family car and if a do anything else to it it will be hard to keep it a daily.

When I bought the Supra it barely ran. The previous owner had a shope rebuilt the block and then when he put it back in the car he fell short and was left with a car that idled horrible and couldnt get over 3k rpms. After I bought the car and got it home I spent about a week researching and running tests on until I got it up and running. So now it was drivable but I quickly found out that the car had been sitting so long that alot of the seals and gaskets where leaking really bad (tranny and engine). At that point I figured that since I was making this essentially a race car and alot of the gaskets where hard to get to, I might as well pull the engine and tranny and start removing stuff from the engine bay and make a few minor upgrades while I am at it.

So thats where I'm at, engine pulled and slowly getting parts I need. The most expensive stuff I still need to buy is the turbo and clutch with mostly everything else ready to go or in the mail. After I get the engine and tranny sealed up and running nice then it'll be time to get the suspension upgrades.

Here are a couple of pics of the ride and me and a buddy of mine pulling the engine.

Welcome to the Mania! Looks like a promising racer there. If you want some good brake upgrades ( at a very good price ) look up 88 Rotors. I am about to order some new pads and rotors from them in a moment. I have had a set of them on my RHD Supra when I was in Germany and it stopped the car so damn well when a deer ran out in front of me that I scraped my front ground effects on the road. I couldn't believe how well they stop ya from 100+ MPH. lol.
