How is it going everybody??? Just join this forum a few days ago. I'm new to the supra scene, even though I've seen many supra videos and cars, i decided to take on a project on my own!!! So, thats why i joined this forum, seems like there is a lot of info i can get from here. I have a 1986 supra non-turbo. I am on the process of takin the block to get check for cracks and see if i can rebuild this sucker!!! it had a blown head gasket and well it was not nice at all!!! number 2 piston was just bits and pieces so hopefully this block is still good!!! or else i would have to look for another one!!! im just finding out that there was a 1ggte for the mk3 (wow) i did not know that at all. I was hoping to do a swap but come to find out there is many mods so i decided to stick with the original 7MGE for now. If anybody knows of a swap that does not required that many mods i would appreciate the help. and by mods i mean cutting welding or so. thanks

hey welcome to the wonderful world of supras :)

ive seen people do 1ggte,1jzgte,2jzgte,uzfe conversions before but the most common would prob have to be the 1jzgte (2.5 liter twinturbo six)
if i were you i prob wouldnt go with the 1ggte and just get a turbo 7mgte or turbo charge your 7mge but if you want to do a swap prob the 1jzgte would be a good option. if you need info have a look around the forums and ask people who have had experience with 1jz swaps and 7mgte swaps or just turbo charging the 7mge. or search for info on a certain topic and you should be ok when you decide to do any work on your supra. :)
also if you have pics of your supra i would like to see some and im sure alot of others too.
