Hi my name is adam. i just bought a 1989 Supra that has a 1jz-gte engine swap and has a r154 tranny. i bought it from 5l_eater (jesse) who was also kind enough to let me use his username for a bit so i could get seatbelts for the car (he had planned to put in aftermarket harness'). so anyway, im 23 and am in the army and am stationed in ft. benning, ga. im lazy with my typing and hate to capitalize or punctuate lol.
i have had some experience with cars before. i know this sounds crazy but i had a '94 ford escort gt (they came with 1.8L mazda DOHC/16v engines that you could make some dec power on. there was a jdm engine from the mazda gtx/gtr that is a direct bolt in that i swapped in there (its a popular swap in that community) and got that hooked up. it was a fun ride(best time of 14.2 in the 1/4mi), but i gave it to my bro before i went to basic training. im ready to move up to the big leagues, so to speak lol. i did most of the GTX swap myself, i used to be a diesel mech apprentice, and sold new/used cars for ford, so im not totally retarded. but i do have some simple jack questions for you guys, which ill ask later (after properly searching of course).
sorry for the long winded speech. thanks for your time and the help some of you have already given me. please give me a heads up on anything i should know that the "new guy" faqs dont already have. thanks again
