Hi, my name is Matt. Im from westchester county in NY. I'm the proud caretaker of a 1987 toyota supra turbo targa (black/tan leather). Prior to my taking ownership, it was loved by another member of this site JSHeinrich. When test driving, and throughout the process, he spoke highly of this site as being one of the premier places to visit for everything mk3, so I decided it would be more than worth it to check out, and learn as much as I can.
MODS: (all done by JSHeinrich)
--> HKS SSQV B.O.V.
--> K&N FIPK Intake Kit
--> MSD 8.5 mm Super Conductor ignition wires
--> NGK Iridium Spark Plugs
--> Greddy Full Auto Turbo timer
--> Megan Racing Strut Bar
--> MKIV TT Wheels w/ center caps
--> New Lower IC Pipe ( can't remember name. Got it from here)
--> LIPP Spark Plug Galley cover
--> Mookeh Short throw shifter
--> New Shifter and e-brake boot
--> 89+ HVAC unit
--> All New Alpine 4" 2Way Speakers 150W
--> Kenwood Head unit
Tires: By friday evening I will have yokohama all seasons on all four tires, staggered fitted, 235/45/17 front, 275/40/17 rear.
I'm talking to a friend of mine who runs a very reputable body shop about fixing the small areas of rust (3 tire well corners).
I am also planning on replacing the rotors/calipers/pads, and exhaust in the near future as well, but the plans for this haven't yet be ironed out whatsoever. It seems like i'll need to replace at least one hose, which seems to be leaking alittle coolant.
This is my first supra, although these cars have been one of my favorites since i can remember, and it's exciting just to know it's sitting in my garage right now, after a grueling two days.
Thanks John for taking such good care of it, I am going to do my best to keep her in as good condition as you've passed the keys to me in. As I said when I came to get her, if you're ever in the area and need to visit her, call and it's as good as done.
To everyone else, I've been looking through most of the sticky posts, and a few others so far, and feel as though this information is extremely helpful. I'm glad john pointed this community out to me, and will try to be as active as i can while absorbing as much knowledge as I can.
