Ok guy's i bought another supra to get arround untill my swap is done....

A auto turbo with 199K on the engine, the owner said the waste gate is bad so the turbo isnt kickin in...

The first thing i did was change the oil, tranni fluid, cleaned the engine with degreaser, and cleaned the intake... due to some oil in the pipes...

After this work i was expecting a nice smooth ride... Nope!
The damn thing wont accelerate, and it overheated...

So i took the new radiator, Thermostat, and lines off my N/A and put them on the clunker... Figuring this would help the overheating...

Nope!!! The car doesn’t accelerate, and it will over heat, then white smoke will come from the engine... I was thinking the smoke was from the degreaser from the exhaust mani.( it was hard to wipe off, so the chemical is still there)

Oh yah the thing idles from 2 to 3K...

What is wrong with this bucket???

Did you get the afm wet. Sometimes if the connection is bad or the afm is bad, it won't accelerate. My wife's was like that. It would die when I gave it gas to accelerate. It could be a number of things I'm sure, but I'm not a mechanic. How bad does it overheat? Is it losing coolant? Have you checked the timing? I wish I could help you, but I can't. Good luck.............lol

I would try to dry it somehow. I know some guy posted on here a while back when my wifes was doing the same thing. I told him I didn't get it wet though, and he said a friend of his had cleaned his and got cleaner inside it. You may can use a hair dryer or something to help with getting the electronics dry. You'll figure it out. It shouldn't be ruined though. Let me know how it works out for you.............lol

No, the AFM is done, there is no way to get it clean again. Just get yourself another one and save yourself the trouble. I would look for a boost leak, and check codes. And as for the overheating...it sounds like you have a coolant leak, pressure test the system.

Haha, I'm just messin'. Yes, you can rent it at AutoZone, but if you have no experience with the Supra's cooling system, I would just have a machanic do the test.

And for the boost leak, you can build the DIY boost leak tester. (easy)

Do you know how to check codes?

Nope:nono: !

I think i seen that boost leak thing before... The thing is the guy that i bought it from said the turbo isnt even kicking in due to a bad waste gate.... The check engine light is on too:aigo:!
