i have gone threw 2 rack and pinions and now im running out of options. the problem is that it has more power assistance left and less turning right. i know of one other person that has same problem i i could benefit from good information. the rack and pump are new, the lines and resivor where cleaned multiple times. only parts that have not been changed are the steering stabilizer and tie rod ends.

Does this have PPS? Just curious, I took my steering stabilizer off. When i installed a new rack, for some odd reason the stabilizer does not mount on its mounting bracket properly. I'm looking into the issue but its not on the top of my list. I'm not 100% sure what would cause turning right a little harder then turning left but the stabilizer.

my stabilizer didn seem to go on right either but yes, the entire system was cleaned, matter of fact the pressure line is going to be replaced due to a small hole in the rubber that shoots fluid onto the manifold (i.e fire hazard) the stabilizer had about 1/8 bind in it. as in i bolted it up and the passanger side bolt pulled the stabizer to the mounting suface(bit of a spring action) no binding with brake lines and the tire rods look and feel new.

There is something in the TRSM PS troubleshooting section about the cause of less power assist towards one side/or the other. Just glanced at it when I went to replace my PS pump today.
Take a look in the TRSM.

Good luck!

I replaced the PS pump in mine yesterday and fixed my issue (which may have been the flow control valve inside the pump). Dunno to what depth the TRSM goes into opening/fixing the rack, but thought you already replaced it? By control valve, do you mean the Progressive Power steering solenoid?

No he means the control valve that is in the upper part of the rack. It controls fluid going to help pressurize the left or right side of the rack to assist in steering. The flow control valve in the pump should make a difference turning either way ie not enough pressure will make turning hard in either direction or too much pressure will blow seals. But the control valve in the rack can make it turn one way easier than the other. Check tsrm in ps section page sr37. I have the same problem in mine but it was not a big concern so I never spent the time to try to fix it, had bigger fish to fry.
