Gave the car a long wash, snapped a few pics cuz I was surprised how good the paint looked, it is the original paint from 87 :aigo:. Suspension goes in tomrrow, can't wait. I hate fender gap.

That is a line of water down the middle of the front lip, and the rear weather trim will be fixed soon. A new pre89 bumper or fixing mine may be in the future also, this front one got trashed from the previous owners.

Comments? Opinions? Suggestions?

Once it's lowered to the ride height I want the exterior will be finished, except for maybe front clear sidemarkers from KevinM when the group buy gets started. I will be NA until the engine blows, which I'm hoping won't be for a while. I will be dropping in a 7mgte, no NA-T for me, although it would be insanely fast I just don't want to risk the reliability issues with the ticking time bomb of a high compression turbo engine.

Thanks for looking/reading.

Very clean body! Nice to see a lip that is intact. What seats do you have? Supra "R" interior? Yea it will look ten times better with suspension done. What set up are you going with?

Still need to make a shift boot and fill certain holes in the center console.

I can't even fit my fist in between the front lip and ground :aigo:

As I was removing the jacks from the front I was like uhhh it just keeps getting lower... and lower... and lower... :naughty: I like it. I'll post some pics in a bit, I'm goin to finish the rears right now. Did the fronts in just under 2 hours by myself, one wheel at a time :biglaugh:

Brings back memories of when I put my H&Rs and Tokico's in. Can't wait to see the car, I love how this setup sits

The link that Brewster posted is the one thing I used, but it really isn't all that correct about a few things.

First thing I noticed is that my brake lines were different, I only had one thing holding them on (2 little bolts), then I removed the A-arm, removed the bottom strut, put in the new, it was very easy, it would be quite hard to mess up the installation.

The car IS completely lowered now, I did the fronts (Just under 2 hours) and rears (Just under 1 hour) one at a time by myself in about a total of 3 hours, first time using a breaker bar and everything, no previous knowledge of suspension install other than reading the forums and that link that Brewster gave. The front is REALLY low, a fist's height off the ground. The ride is a bit bouncier when I'm just cruising, although I took a turn quite quickly and noticed a massive improvement. Rather than the huge body roll I'm used to, the car just turned and went exactly where I steered.

I'll try and take a camera phone pic tomorrow, but it'll be another 2 weeks till I get ahold of a real camera.

And for those of you wondering about the stance, after I finished and walked back to see how it looked, the first thing I thought of was boostedsupra's car, cuz that's exactly how mine sits. I do not plan on trimming the rear springs, although I may tryout a battery relocation to the back.

Here's a funny picture I took when I just finished lowering the front, notice how high the rear is. The rear is NOT jacked up, that's how it sat with just the fronts done.

Previous suspension was KYB GR2's with stock springs. Now running H&R's with Tokico Blues.

ps. you are a smelly pirate hooker, get more pics up.

ROFLMAO :withstupi snap a few more and share. i cant belive how high your car sat before the new suspension. iirc its because you shaved a bunch of weight right? what all did you remove to make it that much of a 4x4 monster?

Planning on doing a battery relocation to the rear to get it a bit more even. I can fit 2 fingers in the front fender and 4 in the back. Before I was lowered I could fit my whole head in the front fender. :nono:

My front rims now rub the suspension, so I'm most likely going to need spacers. Any input on this?

As for the weight reduction, everything has been removed aside from PS, EGR, and I still have the stock flywheel/driveshaft. I still have a stereo, weighs about 5 lbs, sometimes I just need my music :icon_surp. The only other things I could do for weight reduction are: CF hood, lexan rear window, remove ps, remove egr, lightweight battery, and a lightweight flywheel/driveshaft. But it's just not worth the time or money, the weight reduction is extremely extensive and I feel that I'm finished.
