My name is Alex from the ole NJ!

I just acquired an 89 MA70 that was swapped from a 7mge to the 7MGTE along with the LSD as my axle code was for an open diff. It has a few basic tidbits like a silicone intake tube and 3" turboback exhaust. Runs good and all but I'm still trying to investigate it and see what else has been done. I'm also hoping to find the previous owner of the car here on the forums so I can get more insight on the work done.

Anyway... I have been wanting a Supra for years. It's just a great sports car and I like the late 80's early 90's styling. I just enjoy building and tinkering, it keeps me going! The supra is just a great tinker toy! I eventually want to build a nasty 600+ WHP 7M like some of the others I've seen on the forum and on youtube... I like to work with older engines. They still make great reliable power when things are done right!

For the moment, I have ordered a few goodies from DriftMotion to start off with the standard bolt on packages popular here on the forums. Lexus AFM, 57 trim, etc. I wanted to stay on the stock turbo until I could build a 7M with a really big turbo but the stocker on the car is blowing oil from the compressor so I decided to make a bit of power since it has to be removed anyway. Besides, the previous owner installed a 6 puck clutch so it will hold the power.

Interior needs lots of work ROFL!

If anyone is in the NJ area, I'd appreciate any help I can get building this beast.

Something I would do before you go mod crazy.. Do the standard maintenance of changing plugs, oil etc etc to make sure when you start tossing money into it to go faster, it'll stay together. Did you buy exhaust and the IC kit from DM? If so tell me how the install goes as I'm buying the downpipe/catback and the IC kit as well.

P.S. Welcome to SM!

Thanks for the replies. I did place the order for the upgrades but maintenance has been done already. The diff, trans, and engine lubes have been done as per the TSM. Ignition is done, and air filter cleaned. Fuel filter is getting done with the pump upgrade. I'm an experienced auto guy and do commercial aviation maintenance. I can't even count all the cars I've owned in the past when I was house renting... lots of space. Now with the small apartment, it's a bit tough to do heavy work so any one willing to share their garage or driveway is welcome :). I do my best parked in the street lol.

The only thing I have to tackle is the stupid oil adaptor for the mechanical oil pressure gauge. It leaks badly but will get done once the rain here clears up. My daily driver is my neon srt-4.
