Hi Forum, my name is mike and i just traded my POS 90 Eclipse gst that was semi running for a Non-running 88 Supra N/A! I'm excited about the car and its potential. The previous owner said he changed out the timing belt and tensior but not the water pump but i just bought a water pump. the previous owner also told me that the timing slipped after he put the new belt on a couple of days later and when he tried to start the car it didn't sound good. so he got it towed back to his house and started to take it apart, he then said he didn't have the time nor money for it. i checked it out and the crank pulley wasn't tight at all. and it only slipped two teeth. I was freaking out cause i though the valves were done for but after searching the fourms and finding out my motor is a non-interference motor i was relived. The sparks plugs are pretty black and seemed like there coated in oil and so is the top part of the spark plug wire, so that might be a lil problem to. Any thoughts guys?

Las Vegas NV.
You need to do the valve cover gaskets, Thats real common and thats why the plug wires are soaked in oil, Search on here the proper way to set timing belt tension as well as there is a very specific way to do it otherwise you can warp the no. 1 cyl. Where in Nevada are you located? Im in vegas
