Hello! A member here told me about this place on another forum. A little about myself: name's Aaron, in the military, husband/dad and a die-hard muscle car fan (68 Road Runner / 70 Chevelle SS clone the last two I have owned). I will pick up my first Supra in a few days. It is an 89 turbo 5spd, with every option (I think) that Toyota offered that year. 91K original miles and runs like a top. I just got done test driving it and was *very* impressed! Totaly unlike anything I have drove before....smooth, cornered well and quiet!

My plans for the car:

Full tune up to include all fluids and re-torque head (72 ft-lbs? maybe do a stud kit and mhg)

Looks to be a small leak on the drivers side....power steering hose maybe?

New brakes (cross-drilled rotors, good pads)

filter

Braces

after market BOV

boost controler (8-10lbs)

turbo timer

exhaust

eibach springs

All this will be done over time pretty much in order that I have listed. The car is in exc. shape and looks to be a lot of fun. Any further suggestions? I turn wrenches on all my own stuff (and buddies...grrr) and I'm pretty excited with this car.

Eric,
$2200 for the car and I am in the Army. 21B (Combat Engineer) is my primary MOS, but currently I am an ROTC Instructor.:1zhelp: :biglaugh:

Good buy! Very nice looking car. Just don't turn the boost up until you've done a little reading here...the stock head gasket is a serious weakness on this car ;)

I'm jealous of your engine bay... I wish I bought mine looking like that. Same year and mileage I picked mine up for, but you got a hell of a deal.

I forsee a dishonorable discharge in your future ... for grand theft auto!

That is a nice find, you will be hard pressed to find another deal like it if ever again.

But one thing bro, I would make all necessary repairs to it before doing any upgrades cause you're just gonna break all the weak links. And at 17 years old, its going to have a few.
