90+ is different due to the key.

I have a Set I'll sell to you for CHEAP. The Key is worn but still well useable, but I have the key code (champion will recut you a key using the code for ~10 bucks), and or you can take the cylinders to your local lock smith and for ~20-30 bucks they'll rekey them for your old keys.

They cant get pre 89 sets? They still have the key codes on file so i dont see why they couldnt.

They should fit no prob with the exception of the rear lock being slightly different.

go for 91+, you can't start those with shaved down popsicle sticks the way you can pre 90's...

should be the same, except for the rear lock, unless you have 89+ taillights..

One place you might try is T.A.P Recycling in CA. Right after I purchased my car several years ago, I bought a complete set of locks for $75. Locks were in good shape and worked great.

86-89 use one key type
90-92 use a different key type

86-88 use one type of hatch cylinder
89-92 use a different type (different tails)

So yes, you can use a newer lock cylinder set in your car, but the hatch cylinder will only work 100% correctly if you are using the newer tails, if not you may have to try to modify it to work.

As for availability of the sets, if anything is still available it will only be in grey and/or shadow grey, all other colours change up (this only really applies to the glove box lock). That being said, I was under the impression (and I quickly checked a few numbers) that all lock sets are obsolete at this point. If you can get one, go for it, because it will be one of the last if you can get it at all.

Why do you even need an entire new set? Individually most cylinders are still available, why not just get the one or two you actually need and get them rekeyed to your code?
