Alright.. im starting the process to gettin my supra up to good quality inside and out, first started with the paint job, which its gettin a new coat of paint coming later this spring, and next thing i need is a new interior. So i was wondering whats the best route to go, just find a interior in good condition and buy it or go through and get things re apolostered and all that. Anyone know from expierence which route is cheaper? any info helps, thanks.

i've never seen any seats in good condition. same goes with a steering wheel. i think those have to be recovered/reupholstered for sure.

things like dashboard, door panels, etc you can still find in good condition. luckily i got a mint dash from a scrapyard 5 yrs ago and have kept it in perfect condition. you can also get these items made in CF from a few people who make them new.

i'm still not sure what to do with my automatic shifter... the top leather part is almost all rubbed off and discolored, and its not something that is easily recovered i don't think. other ones from the scrapyard look a lot better, but not brand new obviously, so other then doing a 5-spd swap i'm outta ideas :)

i have a set of new looking leather seats. i was trying to dye them black with fabric and vinyl paint but it came off partially so now they are black and burgandy. but they are almost flawless very soft seat. i am willing to sell them if you want. all you would need to do is get the rest of the black paint off of them.lmk.

I dyed the dash and other pieces, reupholsted the seats and replaced the carpet. When it was stripped I also layed down 100sq ft. of dynamat, and decided to suede the headliner

New leather front and back $650

Dupont Vinyl paint $20/can x 10 cans = $200 (SEM colorcoat is half the price, but mine was custom mixed to the color I wanted)

New Carpet $175

Alcantera fabric (looks like suede) $150

I paid a little more for mine. It cost me $1200.00 for front, back, door panels, ebrake boot, and console lid. I like it and it was worth it to me. Good luck with yours.
Edit: the back seats are blue and white also, the picture just makes them look all white.

Sounds like everyone has pretty much covered it. You do what you can with what you have to work with. I was lucky my car originally was blue cloth. I found a local blue leather car in a local wrecking yard. So I stole everything out of it. The only thing I had to find were door pannels and I found them on ebay. Ebay is a great source for interior parts or ask in the parts wanted section of sm. Dye or interior paint are your friend for those plastic pieces. Good luck with everything!!!

Yeah and he can take the dash out and put it back in, in like ten minutes........He's all the time bragging about stuff like that.

J.K. Shaeff, I've got nothing but respect for you. I'm just jealous 'cause I'm too scared to try taking my dash out....lol

I bought it from a local upholstery shop. I had them order 5 yards of it, and that was enough to redo a few pieces because of mistakes and do my rear speaker box covers, sunvisors, a-pillar grip handles, and dome lamp covers. It cost about $20/yrd. Ill post pics of my completed interior this weekend

haha, i never even saw that post! besides, it's not 10 minutes, its in and out in less than an hour and 15 min, or so... ;)

when you do it more than once, the time it takes to do it DRASTICALLY decreases. :)

ive seen a few supra project cars that are just rolling chassis (whats the plural of that) that have near-perfect interiors but no engine/trashed engine...i think one or two are in the f/s section here
