Hey my name is Chris, I recently purchased a 1990 mk3. i bought it automatic w BHG and a spun rod bearing. I also bought along with it an '87 5 speed with just short block and tranny in it. I have already had block from 87 bored and decked. I bought a head from the machine shop with n/a intake cam. the motor is together and in the car now. looking to get the 5-speed tranny in it this weekend. I have found much useful info on this forum and i am glad to join.

welcome to the forums, do yo have a turbo or n/a car? i assume turbo since you pointed out the n/a cam, you just didn't mention anything about the motor. what are your plans for the car?
The car is a turbo. plans for now are just to get it back together so i can drive it some before winter hits. It's got the stock ct26 turbo the only improvements I've made at this point is the n/a cam and MHG with arp bolts. I figured with the head gasket problems on these things i better at least do that. Im on a pretty tight budget right now so just doin what i can.
