Hi.

Im about to start my rebuilt 7M for the first time.

It has been a while since it was assembled, like 6 months ago.

Here is my plan:

Since Im going -an10 full flow oil system and dont want misc crap getting stuck somewhere Im going to start the engine with the stock filter holder/filter and cap off the oil cooler outlet to prevent pressure bleed off, is that ok?

Poor as much oil in the filter before screwing it on.

With an electric drill slowly spinn the oil pump DS go get oil moving around in the engine. Not sure where to look for oil though. When I see oil in the head?

Prime the new bolt on turbo.

Put it all together minus the plugs, remove EFI fuse and crank until I see oil pressure.

Is there something I missed? And Im not sure how to brake it in with the auto trans.

And yes while cranking to get oil pressure up, oil in trans so it fills the converter and
everything in there.

Oh and one more question, the overflow bottle, how important is the height where it sits in regards to the rad cap? Can it sit where the cruise control used to be?

thanx in advance

Greatest idea to keep oil & engine clean is to stick a powerful magnet on the bottom of the oil filter & get a oil drain plug that is magnetized...

Idk about what your asking of the auto transmission?

Overflow bottle needs to be set at the limit else your radiator light will turn on. & why not just set it in the the stock location?

Magnet sounds like a good idea.

There will be very little engine braking with an auto. Helps to wear in the rings.

Have no level indication. No room in the front, 4" thick IC, big ass oil cooler, old autocooler is now a PS cooler. Auto trans cooler between condenser and rad. Batt is in trunk, tray gone, IC piping goes there now.

There's not as much engine braking as a direct mechanical drive, true enough, but if you keep it in a low gear with the gear selector lever, you will still get the job done. You shouldn't need much more than 25 miles to get it set and then you can have some fun.

Never heard of the level of the overflow bottle relative to the rad. to be a factor, but I learn something new everyday. Possible to keep it near same height as stock if you move it to the location you are talking about? If not, a friend of mine tackled the relocation of the overflow bottle by putting it in approx. the same spot as the stock air box. Keep in mind, he is running e-fans and NO shroud, and the air filter is on the lower end of the pipe on the front of the AFM for everything to fit in that corner. Not the optimal set up if you drive your car when the roads are wet. See below:

Yeah that might work. My air filter is where the washer bottle was so there should be room there, but Ill se when I got most of the parts back on.
Thanx for the reply. Ill post up some pictures this weekend to show off my stuff =) well at least my one of a kind block to head vent-snake-pipe.
