I got tired of the old ugly green.... the rest of the green in the car is on the way out too! I updated the gauge cluster a bit too :)

Did you just change the LED's on the climate control? Looks cool

Yep.

I actually got fairly lucky. The voltage at the LEDs stock is only ~2.4 volts. The blue and white LEDS have a foward voltage of ~3.5 so I'm suprised they actually turned on.

I bought the LEDs on eBay... 100 white and 100 blue for 1 dollar each set. Then 11 bucks shipping for each set :p

I just pulled the c.c. apart and de-soldered the green LEDs and soldered in the white and blue. Took me about... an hour? I was bored at work one day :)

Simple if you have basic electronics experience and some time on your hands.

Hey besides taking the c.c. apart did you have to pop the buttons off?

I know I already answered you on AIM, but for anyone else wondering here's the steps....

1: Remove C.C. from car. Duh?

2: Unscrew Yellowish casing from the back (2 screws)

3: unplug the three plugs connecting the two sets of circuit boards.

4: Unscrew the screws holding the top circuit board into the front part of the climate control

5: There are a bunch of white clips holding the second circuit board to the c.c. buttons. you need to pop those off. carefull, they break easy.

6: Unscrew the second circuit board and pull it out.

7: have fun soldering!

I have 2 of the circuit boards out, but can't get the third board out. I can see a blue piece that seems to be restricting it from coming out. I want to get to the button LED's, I have already got the indicator ones done. LMK I need your experience on this one.

Justin, For your instrument cluster, did the white face guages provide the vivid colors? Or did you do more custom work?
I love the look at night, but I really want to keep black faced guages as I'm almost as anti-bling as Ian.

the only thing i did to the instrument cluster was the white over-lays. I don't think the white gauges are 'bling' at all. I think they look much nicer than black... its a clean thing, not a bling thing :)
(check procarparts.com i think they have black with blue)
