New ACT clutch slipping :(

So I just a few days ago I put 500 miles on the clutch, which is supposedly the break in period for this clutch. I bought everything from CK on here, I bought a new Aisin stock pressure plate and a new ACT six puck sprung clutch. So just after the 500 miles I ran the supra from a stop from 0-80 mph, and it ran great. So now 600 miles later (today) I went WOT from 1st gear from a stop. So around 4500rpm it started to slip on me. So I ran it again and same thing happened. Now if I down shift, at around 4000 rpm it will just stay there. Although the clutch has not slipped completely it's starting to do it. So what can be the cause of this slipping issue??? Defective clutch??? Maybe my new aisin pressure plate is to weak for this clutch??? Im confused, and sad.

Was the 500 city? highway? both? I hear 500 city miles is the break in. Stop and go traffic. If its 500 highway then its not truly fully broken in.

you could have possibly glazed the clutch. Making it slip. I know there are some instructions from a store hpf or something that if a clutch starts to slip simply rev to 2/3k and slowly raise the clutch a few times to scuff the surface Im not sure if this is the correct procedure tho, search around for clutch break in and something should pop up.

How much WHP are you making? A stock pp with 6 puck disk would be ok for a little more then a stock disk, probably a 15% increase. Also, did you clean the pp and flywheel very well with brake cleaner before assembly? Another thing people forget to do is adjust the pedal freeplay, that is very important.

These are my mods:
Stock CT at 10-11psi
3" Downpipe (although when I was running the sup I was only running a 2.5" catback after the DP).
2.5" intercooler hard pipes
K&N air intake
And thats it I think.

Yes everything was cleaned well.

Pedal Free Play??? I haven't adjusted none of that. But can that actually make my clutch slip?

Yes! Does the clutch engage just barely off the floor, or when you have it almost all the way out? Check the TSRM for adjusting pedal freeplay before driving it anymore.

YES, cause you could be slipping it when you take off from a stop but not realize it and think its actually engaging normally.

Thats an under statement!!! My muscles end up spazing and locking up on me when I bend in strange positions trying to get under there!

and you have to remember its 500miles of CITY driving. Or like back road mountain driving, you want downshifts, and lots of up shifts. Sitting there at 3,000RPM on the highway isnt breaking it in...

but yeah, you always have to re adjust the pedal due to getting new clutch parts.

Also how many times has that fly wheel been cut, and most importantly was it resurfaced. I was told by a cluctch mfg that cutting a fly wheel too many times takes away from the clutch effectiveness to clamp and you may need thicker buttons to compensate for the material lost from many resurfaces!

Yeah I resurfaced the flywheel, but I don't know how many times it's been cut since im not the original owner of the car it came out of. Still looked pretty good though.

I'm going to adjust the free play today, and hopefully it will solve my problem. I guess ill have to get under the dash, which sucks LOL.
