I hate IE8. I'm going to wipe it off and reinstall IE7. 8 just don't work well with XP, on my system anyway. My computer is really old and not buying one anytime soon.

Anyway, question: Is there a way to save my favorites so I'll have them when I reinstall IE7??

Side note to IE haters. I do have FF and Safari that I use a LOT but need IE for some specific things.

I come from a land down under
Explore the favs folder right click select all then copy them to removable media, to install just copy/paste them from the media back into favs.

Usually only a couple of Mb so a small USB stick will easily do it.

SM is all and all annoyingly slow since the vBulletin upgrade.

I thought FF just adapted your IE, and brought all of your favorites with it. It may still have them when you are through, or deleting your current IE may screw up your FF if it is dependent on the IE (IDK). Besides, they are your favorites, at worst you'll have to type the address again and save to favorites one time. I know at our age, every little bit of time is important.

FF uses a different protocol for the 'favorites' scripting, so it reads your Favorites folder and converts all the files to the format Mozilla uses and saves it in your Mozilla folder. I've found one of the best extensions for FF is Xmarks...it makes an online backup of your bookmarks in FF, and as long as you have Xmarks installed on any computer you use (and logged into their server), you can access the same bookmarks on any computer....and it will sync them when you add a new one, no matter what computer you're at.

Well I went to the contol panel and add/remove programs, blah blah blah, and deleted Windows IE8. Well after restarting my computer I fully expected to have to go and download IE7 again. Turns out I did not have to. Deleting IE8 left me with IE7, so I haven't lost anything. SM still seems to be a little slow but I'll deal with it.

Yep, they're small.

IE8 rocks.....on Windows 7. It wasn't nearly as good on XP on my old setup.

Im on Win 7 with IE8 and it blows. Constantly freezes for no reasons, load times are treacherous and consumes endless memory. I've always been an avid IE fan but recently switched to firefox and won't be returning to IE anything for awhile.
