Hey, I have recently just started to rebuild my 7MGTE after having rod-knock. I have read tons of technical discussion on what to do and how to build up the engine right. At this moment i have the shortblock and head ready to go with a metal head gasket. All new bearings and ARP bolt kit(bottom end) and stud kit(HG). I am using the original cams and valve train. New wisco pistons .040 over i believe. I am aiming for 350 to 400 rwhp and this is how i think i will be able to do it within my budget:
-Walbro 255lph fuel pump kit
-Lexus AFM
-RC 550cc fuel injectors
-Aeromotive fuel pressure reg.
-upgraded ct-26 57 trim turbo
-obvious component replacement(oil pump,waterpump,timingbelt,etc)
Now at this point i know i will need some sort of fuel management system but i'm not really into spending 2 grand on a standalone. I'm looking for a piggyback system that will be user friendly when tuning and will work with the Lexus AFM but not breaking the bank. I also would like an electronic boost controller that will mesh. I have been looking at GReddy and APEXi avc controllers. I have no idea what kind of boost i will want to run yet due to everyone having different opinions. My understanding is that i will need a boost cut controller over 15 psi?? I am also wondering if my stock intercooler will be sufficient or is it safe to just upgrade that aswell.

Your opinions and inputs would be greatly appreciated.

In for suggestions as well, I am in the same boat. However I'd like to reach 500. The engine I'm looking at belongs to a buddy of mine and has eagle rods w/ stock piston, HKS MHG, ARP bolts, Clevite bearings. Not sure about top end. I will be using a 58 trim billet ct from albert and full 2.5in IC piping with a spearco. Exhaust will be BIC DDP to tanabe hyper. I will also use lexus afm with 550 or slightly more injectors. Walbro pump and some form of afpr and a maybe a piggyback? Been looking at Apex'i neos....
