alright so i remember stumbling across a one peice aluminum driveshaft as a performance replacement for the two peice shafts the 89 supra's come with stock...
Has anyone done this lately and what kind of torque and horsepower gain did you experience? It seems like a good idea and just wondering if its worth the money.... peace

Just got one from Jeff at Jaws Gear...checkout the vendors list. It was a bit cheaper (including shipping) than those from the other places I've seen. The driveshaft looks really good, very nice quality, the welds are beautiful (and aluminum is a PITA to weld)...I'm planning to install it today.

It does require bolts (4 that attach to the differential) that are 5mm longer than the stock ones. I got hardened 10x1.25mm 30mm long bolts, nuts, and washers to do the job...they're actually the hold up, due to be delivered today. I'm planning to post pics of the install when I'm done.

I'm replacing mine because my center bearing is bad (again)...damn things cost $190 and this is the second time I've had the thing start vibrating/making noise. If I had done the one piece replacement the first time, I wouldn't have to be doing this. The steel one piece shafts are cheaper and still weigh half what the stock shaft does. The only real difference (besides weight) is the aluminum shaft is more torsionial and will help absorb some shock from a high HP motor.
