I got a cause&effect paper due soon and I need some ideas on what I should write about...

I'd probably do something along the lines of internal combustion motors and how it all works...with diagrams and I know on youtube you can find a video where the put a small camera inside a cylinder of a running engine and you could see intake, compression, ignition, and evacuation take place.....

How about the cause and effects of cars only burrning what ever percent it is of gas that goes threw it.. and what the cause and effects it would have if it burned 100% of the fuel....
I'd attack this from a different angle, to be honest. Pick an effect from history that you find interesting - building the wall of China, the fall of Rome, Pearl Harbor, whatever tickles your fancy - and then research what caused it.
When delivering, make sure you detail the causes first, then the logic, then the factual effects.

What about a single event touching the lives of several different people/families. tell how the same cause has a different effect on each person/family (not too many).
could be based on history (as grim suggested) or fiction, either way it would be an interesting paper, the event could cause bad with some and good for others.
One event threading through the lives on many people and each unique reaction or effect to the event had always been quite interesting to me....

Wow okay the paper was due today and I come home to find all the ideas lol.
I was trying to do it on something dealing with cars but then my teacher decided to give us all a special topic. Forgotten places that at one time was an everyday trip. I did mine on the old Route 66. :icon_bigg
