my winter car is acting up, the coldstart injector switch harness connector has crumbled on me. causing the wiring to fall off constantly, realistically my whole engine harness could use a replacement. when i swapped this current engine in i had numerous connectors break lock tabs off due to them being dried out.:: angry ::
including the connectors on the engine harness to the fuse block. i currently have zip ties keeping them engaged!

anybody have access to a 90-91 celica gt 5spd parts car. or know of one in a salvage yard near the tri-state area that at least these connectors could be cut from or the whole engine harness saved from?

anybody have access to toyota connectors?

not possible as id have to find a different switch for the cold start timer. plus that would double the cost of this winter beater, as of now i have about 600$ in the whole car. the fuseblock is like any typical toyota, specially shaped female connectors built right into the box, so id have to solder a bunch of wires directly to the toyota box then put a connector downstream on both sides. il deal with the zipties till i can sell it before id go that route

if i can find the plastic part i can transfer the pins(i have the tool)

as an afterthought, i suppose i could solder wires to the switch(can you do that on a thermistor without damaging it?)and then put a two place gm weatherpack on it and the harness.

id rather not, but that may be the solution!

so no soldering to the switch?, suppose i could try that on a spare switch. id use the gm weather pack connectors as i do not intend on keeping the car past spring and i already have a large selection in my kit(i buy problem car at auction and sell them after repairing them, its a hell of a lot cheaper if somebody hits me that way! plus i usually make some good coin on the turnaround)

I come from a land down under
Yep no soldering, done this a few times and my DBW Pedal is done this way as I couldn't source a connector for it.

Just make sure the clips are tight on the pins and can't move while the RTV sets up and you're golden.

ya got the car for 300 and a second very totalled celica for 50 the red car had 2 exposed rods and the totalled car drove onto the trailer, some paint and a gasket kit later and its alive. the parts car was a 89 so it did not have the coldstart connector in the same spot
