need shifter help

ok, so i bought one of those aftermarket shifter ball seats brought up a while ago. Got the other misc. gasket to install when i do it as well. I've got everything torn apart now, thinking that the installation would be as simple as the website instructed...place the seat on the pins upside down, and flip it into position...

the seat is too large in diameter to clear the recess below the pins, and isn't flexible like the green toyota ones...i tried removing the pins by banging on the inner side (tell me if this is wrong), and they didn't budge. The old seat is FUBAR, so re-using it for the time isn't an option. Has anybody else installed these yet, and if so how did you go about doing it? I've looked through the TSRM a few times and have found nothing on it, so any help is greatly appreciated

nevermind, I got it in....dremel's get you out of the tightest situations, even if you have to remove a metric buttload of material.

for future referance, be prepared to bust out the dremel and some prying tools...If you don't own a dremel or aren't moderately skilled with one, don't buy one!
