I have an 89 auto and I just recently put on a DDP. I finally just got a mbc that was a homemade. And I'm wondering what exactly I did wrong or I have a larger problem. When I get on it, boost goes past 8psi(stock gauge) then I hit fuel cut. I'm pretty sure the mbc is turned as far down as possible without running out of threads. Tomarrow I'm going to hook up a much better boost gauge to see.

its screamin noob, and that you didn't learn to SEARCH before posting.

stock guage sucks doin the rite thng by gettin an aftermarket one. anyway i see two things DDP and MBC. you dinked with the boost setting and are moving more air so turn down the MBC and youll be fine. a side effect from getting a bigger DP is a couple more psi of boost, nothing out of the ordinary here.

Your probably just boosting more than what the gauge can read. Install a aftermarket boost gauge.

So for the boost gauge you screwed it all the way in? Meaning you increased the spring tension right? If so, that means you are increasing the boost pressure. If not, then there is probably a boost leak somewhere causing you to hit fuel cut.

I did research maybe I didn't spend hours looking I found ppl with the same problems but not my exact issue. So I wanted other ppl's input. I understand a DP is a couple psi of boost and it flows way better than the stock DP. I just dont understand why my mbc is turn down as far as it will go before it basically falls apart I mean its only on like a thread or two. And I'm still huttin fuel cut.

So LordLo your saying to screw it in all the way to lower the boost? I read that in another thread. They where saying turning it up, screwing in the mbc or more spring tension will turn the boost down. Correct me if I'm wrong.

test it then, isolate the problem. take the MBC out compleately just run if it were stock. it the problem presists then the only variable that was changed was the DP.
i reccomend that after you install the boost guage you take out the MBC and just see where the boost is, if anything its a great reference point for future problem solving.
im still willing to bet your boosting more then you think.

I agree I was hitting fuel cut right after I put the DP on so I'm guessing some where in the range of 12 to 14 psi at least. Not sure just an educated guess.
