I just did a head gasket job and changed hoses in the process. Now the car doesn't want to run right. Sometimes when i start it wants to idle around 400-500 rpms and when you give it gas it will maybe goto 1500 if im lucky and try and dye out if your pumping it. Then sometimes when it starts it will idle about 800 then when it starts warming up the idle will goto about 1800 and when the throttle is fully open it will only hit 2900 rpms. I also keep getting engines codes 31 (air flow meter) on both start ups and 41 which is and throtle position sensor and i only get that on the second type start up. There is also a strong smell of unbrunt gas coming from the exhaust.

I have checked the wiring on both the air flow sensor and the tps. Set the tps up to the toyota manual the feel guage ohms stuff.

Possible the cps is set wrong? Timing off? any help is apperciated

Sounds like the AFM isn't plugged in.

This gets my vote...you recheck the electronics connection? Did ya happen to clean the inside of the AFM with carb cleaner?

the wiring has been checked. I checked ohms on the meter and ohm the wires to the cpu to make sure they were not cut. Yes i cleaned the meter with carb cleaner.

Ohhh...not good. Everyone I know that has done that, ended up with a trashed AFM electronic module...some right away, some it took a few weeks. If you have access to a known good AFM, swap them out and that will confirm.

I assume you checked according to this:
