My mom is getting re-married in 5 weeks and I'm in charge of the music (need 4 hours worth). I'm up to 2 hours so far and am running out of ideas. Her and her fiance were both born in the early 60's, so some classics would be nice. They like the band Rush, so if any of you know any good wedding songs by them that would be awesome. Thanks guys.

ACDC, B52's, Billy Idol, Elvis, Righteous Brothers, Elvis Presley, Bill Haley and his comets, Beatles (twist and shout), Marcia Griffiths (electric slide), The McCoys, Bob Seger

That should get you started at least. If you don't know the artists bit hits, just look them up on google and youll know all the big songs by them. I have Dj'd weddings of all age groups quite a long time with my dad, so are just a few off the top of my head. Of course play songs at key points in the night, ie the more people drink, do the more cheesy songs, its hilarious.

***Keep in mind, you have to pick music people actually can dance to, not just think "oh this is a good song". Its a lot tougher than most people realize trying to play music for diverse crowds such as a wedding reception

Rush don't have wedding songs guys lol.
Good songs from them = Roll the Bones, Subdivisions, Tom Sawyer, Red Barachetta, YYZ, The Spirit of the Radio, Hemispheres, Cygnus X-1, 2112, Bastille Day, and the Best = Working man.
MAKE SURE you do Earth, Wind, and Fire. Boogie wonderland, september, etc. Everyone likes them. Jamiroquai - Canned heat.

i wouldn't play this till later in the night as most of the older crowd (over 30) won't know it, but with the alcohol settling in a bit more and more people getting on the dance floor they won't care as its an easy song to enjoy.

Oh! Twist and shout is an awesome choice! Not my "style" of music, but after a few drinks that song is INCREDIBLE!!! :)

its everyone's style, young or old, black white asian japanese, i don't care what you say lol. A few drinks and anyone will dance to it. I know this from experience and lots of it

Lets be honest here, there is only one thing you need to get...

The soundtrack from Vice city. Over 4 hours of amazing music, just cut out the songs from Espantoso because that would be a little weird.
