Can I request a pic of the two 17 mm bolt locations on the front bumper. I've been told the general location but can't find em or maybe they right there but i'm not thinking it's them or something. Thank much.

the two that hold the bumper on?

Yep thems the ones. I would have asked this in the bumper removal threads but they were too old to reply anything in em. and i'm not that great with those schematic types pics.

From what I read i have a few bolts for the splash guards in the wheel wells. remove the grille and turn signals, fogs. then all that is basically left is the two 17 mm bolts.

Somone told me they were under the headlight area but i don't see em.

Do I need to remove the upper nose panel and/or headlights to get to them as well btw?

Thanks for the extended help.

that is what it looks like with no bumper as you can see in the red is where the bolts go through.

Thanks for the pic, helps out alot. now whats the best way to get to them. I got an 89+ front bumper cover coming next week i'm gonna fit on. Should i just remove the nose panel piece or is that doing more work then needed. if i need to them i need to find a link to remove the nose panel.

Mind you i'm doing all this in the driveway with no lift, I hope this is something i can do without having to have the body shop do it for me and cost me more.

EDIT: is the head of the bolt on the bottom or top. in other words the way i wanna go in with my ratchet. lol. I'm such a noob at all this, lmao.

it is bolt the top has a holder so it doesn't turn, well it is suppose to many times it will turn anyways. you just get under the front end of the car and you will see the nut to take off. they are tight most the time .

i would, its not that hard.... if you have a 3ft extension bar. hahaha

it would make reinstallation of the front bumper a lot easier.

Haha, ok then.

EDIT: I found the Nose Panel Removal Thread. thanks to that handy dandy SEARCH button, LMAO.

I don't think it's that necessary to take the upper panel off. I know I didn't when I removed the bumper. Use liquid wrench on the steel bumper bolts
before removing them. Check with your friend with the '91 and see if he has
his steel bumper available if you want to swap that out. Otherwise to install
the new bumper cover with the foam backing the steel one can stay put.

If I remember correctly the following is what all i'm buying off him.

-89+ Front Bumper Cover
-89+ Turns
-89+ Grilles
-89+ Fogs
-Styrofoam Piece that sits between the bumper cover and the steel bumper
-Any brackets that are needed for fitment.

He's a pretty sharp cookie it sounds to me. He is sending me everything i need to do the conversion except the upper nose panel as he still is using it. Otherwise this whole kit from him is only 300 beans, plus shipping so i think i'm getting a great deal.

BTW, This is my first time ever dealing with someone over the net that isn't local or semi-local. And all I gotta say is that if everyone on here is as cool, and honest as the gentleman i'm buying from then i have no fears whatsoever of doing more business with members of SupraMania.

Well are the steel bumpers from pre 89 and 89+ all the same? If so i'll just attach your styrofoam piece to my steel bumper and go from there.
