sorry for such the novice question. i purchased a megan racing eletric oil pressure guage the other day and it came with a new oil pressure sending unit. what side of the motor is this on and whats the easiest way to get at it? put it up on a jack or from above? i searched the haynes manual inside and out and couldnt find anything relevent.

89 7m-gte if that makes any difference.

thanks!

ahhh. ok. so ill just take off the power steering bracket and the accordian hose for easy access?

thanks.

basically, yes

but with that said, a word to the warning. Most gauges comes with 1/8" or 1/4" NPT. Toyota uses 1/8 BSPT for the oil pressure sender. NPT and BSPT are NOT under any circumstance, compatible. One is 18 threads per inch and the other is 19. That means crossthreading if you force one into the other.

so what do u suggest doing? should i go about ordering a fitting that can somehow splice the two?

i tried to thread it into a spare 5m block that i had today just to see if it would fit and it would have had to have been cross threaded to fit. does this fit your description? its an m series block so are all of the fuel pressure sending units the same?

hm.

does anyone know the sizes for both ends of the adaptor? id like to pick it up on the way to school tomorrow and then have it before i have to go back. its simply for convenience, otherwise ill take my stock one out and measure the threads and pitch.
