Dont let anyone get you down bro.. Shoot for your dreams.. I was 16 when I bought my car... the interior was a complete mess, the driver side door was smashed, terrible mileage/ running super rich [still does], i was making no type of money to upkeep the car, but i didnt care, a Supra was my dream, and I promised myself I'd make it happen.. That was one year ago, and I have come a long way.. It takes lots of time and patience.... It wont be showroom overnight, but with a few dreams and some elbow grease, it'll be fine.. Ill post some pics of how I got my Supra one year ago.. and i posted pictures of how it is now.. ill take interior pics later.. the most important thing is having the money, this forum is the most helpful thing you could possibly get a hold of, the guys on here know their shit and dedicate their time to help newbies like us.. alot of them are gonna say pass on the car and wait for a next one.. everyone told me the same.. me and my dad said fuck that, supras dont come around here often... i originally wasnt gonna take the car because its an automatic.. Thats alright though, this summer I plan on doing a 5spd swap..
Just take it like this, If its a car that you plan to keep and build, take it and baby it.. If you're gonna try to get it, turtle wax it, and sell it for higher than you paid, then your wasting you time...
THE MOST IMPORTANT PART ON THE CAR-- CHECK THE BODY FOR RUST AS EVERYONE SAID.. MAKE SURE U DRIVE THE CAR BEFORE YOU BUY IT.. dont buy it because its a supra.. do not buy a no-start.. at 16, you dont know what could be wrong with it, or how much $$ it will take to get running.. make sure its running, and drive it.. if the engine pulls strong, then make an offer.. DO NOT PAY 2000 though.. thats a ripoff.. the car is worth a grand maybe.. make a sensible offer.. dont insult him and offer him 500.. but dont be too generous and offer 1500.. try somewhere between $900-1150.. if he takes it... youre on your way bro..
