First of all, I have searched for an hour trying to find this in other posts. When I click on the tsrm it saids that the page cannot be found. I tried it repeatedly. I also looked under different threads and found how to adjust the timing. The only problem is that it turned out to be for a MKII. I have a '91 turbo.
I just replaced the head gasket and installed a new bic ddp. The car wouldn't stay running. We moved the distribitor a little and now it idles alot better, but I don't know if it is exactly where it needs to be. How can I check this?
Second question, I have an exhaust leak. There is a hole in the back of the head that we didn't put an aluminum piece over. We found it, but with no gasket, and installed it, but it's still pretty loud. Is their one that is suppose to go on the drivers side also? I'm going to make a gasket tomorrow and put on the one on the left and see if that helps. I would appreciate some help if anyone has any suggestions, other than to search for answers. Been there and done that. Thanks!...................:1zhelp:

Still needing help. I know a few of you know the answers to this off the top of your head. I'm talking to you JetJock, IJ, Grim and a few others that are smarter than the average bear.

Who?? LMAO...:)

I think you just jumper the diag block like your going to check codes, then install the light on #1 cyl. and set to 10 degrees by loosening the cps, adjusting it, and then re-tighten it. Now disconnect the light and remove the jumper. Page IG-20

And second question sounds like the egr cooler plate is leaking to me..

One more thing I noticed guys.. It says 9-10 deg for GE and more then 12 for GTE. The engines are the same except for compression ratio and intake manifold what dictates the lower timing on the GE? Do they think its gonna det with more compression or somethin? lol the reason im asking I have a NA-T and I set mine to 10. All turbo parts except for block and head

Your welcome and thank you, but I don't belong at the top with those guys LOL, but I am happy to help when I can.

Read The Funny Manual is the clean version..

Porter, That is where the timing should be at after the jumper is removed!!!

The TSRM should be your new "bible"!!!

Study it. It is full of usefull info if you just take the time to make sure you understand what you are reading. ;)
