Need help about a car title issue!

I bought a 1993 Accord from a friend for a beater, with out a title because he said he would be able to get it for me. So awhile passes and it turns out his friend who originally sold him the car didnt give him the title for the car, so he doesnt have it his friend does. I actually find out its his EX-friend who eventually started to hate him and wanted to beat his ass for all this dumb stuff blah blah. So now hes afraid if he asks for the title back the guy will think the car is still working and try to take it back from him ( really me now ). So basicly I have this good working car that I'd like to keep and drive legally ( Register ), but no title, and no way to get the title with out risking some ass hole trying to get the car.

I was thinking about looking for a trashed accord around the same year and switching vin plates / buying the title from the owner and letting them junk it.... but finding someone who is willing to sell those is gonna be tough.

Anyone have any advice??!? I really need to drive this legally!

i know where this 86.5 is sitting for like 4 maybe 5 months. my key fits the door. you cant get ahold of the people. am thinking about stealing it b/c they dont have the title either. i dont think they check on it either crack heads probly. think i could get a title for it?

6 months, if the car has been sitting on the side of the road, junk yard dealers do it all the time

no, thats how they get to keep them, they just get a call from the cops, saying this vehical needs to be moved, they bring it to their junk yard, and if no one calls for it for 6 months they apply for a lost title and its theirs.


in your case, no one, has had the car for more than 6 months, besides u so just wait a little longer and say u have had the car, the owner i purchased it from never had the title. u apply for a lost title and bam it should be urs within no time.

no the guy who somtimes works on my car know the owner of the store it sits in front of and can pick it up. but the car is such junk i dont even know if i want to mess with it. the car looks like its already been jumped. they written all over it looks like they did it with white out. and there is so much trash in the engin bay. there really isnt even any parts on the car that are worth selling except the front bumper isnt bad. and there asking a 1000 lol and they lowered it from 2000 lol. there like this is a classic car with ect.
