Just installed some hardpipes and a fatty front mount and now Im hitting fuel cut while still running crazy rich. Ive got a Lex AFM, 550s, Walbro, AFPR, running 20psi on a 60-1 upgraded CT. Im tuning with a S-AFC. Ive got the fuel pressure around 38psi with the vaccum line off, and Im -20% across the board on the hi-throttle map on the AFC. So what the hell do I need to do? Lower the fuel pressure? the boost (last resort)? Take more out on the AFC? I need some help NOW!!!!! I was fine, not hitting fuel cut (but still crazy rich) before the hardpipes and FMIC, but now Im all over fuel cut. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Fuel cut is based on air flow...you just increased yours ;)
One way to get around it is to use a MAF-T Pro and switch over to speed density...lots of threads here on how to do that. Until then, you will have to turn down the boost.

Your fuel pressure is way high...drop it down to 28 psi and go from there. Be careful, with the way you have your SAFC now, you don't want to go lean and detonate your motor.

Edit: Keep in mind if you use an FCD, you are disabling an important protection feature of the ECU. Code 34 (fuel cut) is one of two codes that cut the injectors off...there's a very good reason for that. It keeps you from blowing the motor. Using a FCD is risky business...especially if you don't pay attention to what you're doing.

Sounds like a boost leak to me. Pulling out 20% fuel on a CT-26 based turbo should net you well over 24psi. I can hit 24psi on my 57 trim pulling out only ~10% (and Lexus AFM).

Damn, that sux. I was hoping it wasnt that. I guess I'll look at my piping again and tighten everything down. Ill see what that does. Thanks.

Don't mean to thread jack but...

I have a buddy with a 97 Eclipse GST. Apparently they have fuel cut problems too. Just with the apexi safc he's running 21psi with no fuel cut. Does the afc actually raise fuel cut since the ecu isn't seeing the correct amount of air?

If you remove fuel via a tuning device like the S-AFC then you effectively raise FCO on cars like the 7M Supra where FCO is based on AFM signal (among other factors). This isn't safe to do normally, you must have some method of increasing fuel some other way.

fred....first off you want to stay away from taking out more then about 15% anywhere on that AFC. after that it starts messing with timing and you dont want that.

a said above you need to start by lowering your fuel pressure. its too high. that in itself will help you. put the AFC settings to 15% and see where that gets you....

the more you lean it out the higher boost you will be able to run. but you have to start with less fuel pressure. hope that helps

Don't help Fred! Let him sputter down the 1/4 during eliminations :)
Just messin with ya bro, the answer's already in the thread. Lower fp, add some fuel back in, watch the af's and go
