we need some front calipers for out 90T b/c the bleeders were already rigged and snapped off today. Where should I buy them from? :1zhelp:

Also need some pads for the front. I bought some Autozone Albany's... they didn't come with shims! so i'm taking them back. where should I get my pads from? Just looking for an OEM semi-metalic with shims pads.

I bought USA made rotors today from autozone for $23ea. Napa was trying to sell me $38 rotors made in china.

I've always had issues with my brakes squelling like mad. get some good pads and the brake goo crap that gose on the back of the pads. You can get universal two or thee pot calipers and make some brakets out of 1/4 in steel plate and that will not run too mutch

I've never recieved replacement shims with any over-the-counter pads... I don't think they come with the Toyota ones either (unless you buy them as well).

I think NAPA has a brake hardware kit that may include the shims. I've always had to re-use the ones I have (several different cars).

hhmmm. ok. thanks for that input. I'm heading to napa right now to get 2 calipers. I'll check to see if their $47 middle of the road pads come with shims.

update: went to napa tonight. Got a caliper and their $47 set of pads... WHICH came with shims! and the caliper came with EVERYTHING! dust caps, bolts, springs... it's great. $40.99 per caliper and $47.xx for the pads with shims. Core charge on those calipers was $62ea! However I only walked out with the right caliper b/c the left one wasn't correct. the brake hose hook up wasn't located like it should of been. So they ordered another one from Jax, FL so hopefully we get it Sat.

I noticed there are 3 brake lines per wheel upfront. Lower, middle and upper. Napa only listed a L and R for front brake hoses.... $45 per wheel. so i'm guessing you get all 3. They're starting to show dry rot and I'm already up to my elbows in BS with this job. I think I might just get SS lines for those prices.

The stock front brake lines are in two pieces, top and bottom. The SS lines I bought (Goodrich) were one piece per side. I can't say I noticed a huge difference between SS and my 16 year old stock lines.

Looks like our lines are 3 peices if i'm not mistaken, but I haven't take it apart. I'll probly do SS brake lines LATER on... not now. Our hoses are pretty decent. Nothing to get panicy about. They show some "light" dry rot cracks when you bend them. I just hope NAPA gets this correct caliper in tomorrow so we have our car for monday.

advance auto has bendix import quiet pads for our cars that come with shims. should be better than toyota pads. They also have morse ceramic pads, that is what I am running. Either set cost 40+ dollars
