Hello to all of you, i'm new up here, came here with questions about Mk3 Supra. I'm probably going to buy one, 1992 turbo. I find the car interesting becouse of it's potencial for upgrading...to be honest, i newer was much into japanese cars, always prefered Italians, but it's time to go for something new:1zhelp: :1zhelp: :1zhelp:
I checked a few Supras, but besides chasis i dont know what to check...are there any special details about this car, most common problems....I need advice..as much as i can get them

Further on, if someone can tell me where to start with upgrades, which pistons, cams, injectors, turbo....where to start, what to do first. The car will not be a daily driver, it will be used for fun, drag racing and sure for drifting.
Thanks forr all replays...

first find a good cond. car as a starting point. A lot of people have gotten caught up in what there future plan is of the car and over look the actual cond. of the car they end up buying. Which also why you will see a lot of posts about this and that is broke, or I hate this car, and mk3's suck I am going to buy a mk4, etc... you get my point.

Well, i forgot to write one thing...at the moment in my country there are only four (4) cars available, complet number of them in Slovenia is probably not more than 20...and I cant import it, becouse it's too old for import....one of the problems. I think i found quite a good one...
I have qoite alot of knowledge about mechaniks...always doing almost all things by my self..main problem is that i newer did a japanese car, always had Alfa Romeos...the last one i build up to 370 HP, but this is close to the edge for this 2.0 litre turbo engine. Supra has 3.0 litre turbo :icon_bigg :icon_bigg :icon_bigg

look for signs of a bhg. oil in turbo lines. rod knock. squeeling from the turbo(death whine). also things to look for might be signs of neglect.

Car has been chosen, i'll get it next week:icon_bigg :icon_bigg It's a 1992 turbo, in totaly original condition, second owner..I'm satisfied with what i got!
It's time for thinking what part's to order.

On this forum i red a rewiew about Garret gt 35 r turbo. I was also thinking about this one...is this a good choice or is there much better choice of turbo??
There is also alot of choice for pistons..advice about which one to order?
i'll also be changing injectors (650 ccm) and cams..again question which one to chose??

wa.
check the compression on that thing

how many miles?

change EVERY bit of fluid.

if your gonna go performance and thinking as far as pistons, check your head for warpage/hardness (as ij streses), make sure you get a good hg on there and atleast 80ft/lbs on it, and if your taking it appart might aswell redo your rod bearings.

have fun let us know how it goes and POST PICS.

make sure everything is in PERFECT running order before you modify! And be sure to post pics when you finally get her, otherwise that would be against the law!

Color is the same as yours, s383mmber1, engine runs nice, it has 260 000 km..that's aproximatly 160 000 miles...as far as the engine goes...it will be fully renoveted..from rod bearings to pistons...everything.
Someone wrote it has been only 197 made....a small number, considering this car is in Europe ??
As i said, the plan is to get new pistons, cams, injectors, turbo, exaust....when i get the car, i'll post pictures and will keep you up to date during whole project...it shuld be done in about four months

PLEASE a litle bit of help!!!
Till now i have newer been buying other material then european, this is my first time to order parts from USA. I dont know which brands are good and which arent..that goes especialy for pistons...which one's are good and which should i awoid...can someone please write something about performance parts for supra....pistons, cams, head gasket,..

Turbo has been practicly chosen, it's garret gt 35r, exhaust will be our own product, rebuilt head also...will take photos during work:icon_bigg
