I was looking through craigslist and found a 90 turbo supra for sale locally, The guy claims it had a bad headgasket when he bought it and would over heat. And now after having it stored for 2 yrs won't start (turns over but no start) and never got to fixing the headgasket. Hes asking $2500 for it which seems a little much to me. I'm going to go see the car tomorrow and want some input from you guy what is a fair price?http://newyork.craigslist.org/wch/car/544655373.html

$2500 is high, depending on the condition of the rest of the vehicle.
You will find out when you look at it.

It sounds like he thinks the car is really rare for some reason. Show up in your Supra and let him know it's not really... I wouldn't pay more than 1K for a non running car unless the body is really really nice...

Unless he can provide detailed pics of the front, back (the whole thing, not the just the left side), both sides, underhood and interior, there's no way we can really answer that question honestly.

From the pic, the left rear tire is flat, the muffler looks after market and rotted. Since the car is local to you (N.Y.) rot is a serious concern as well. Not good signs overall.

So far, it's a 100K+ mile non running car in an unknown (but possibly poor) overall condition. There's really no way to put a value on it yet. It's certainly not worth over $2K. Possibly quite a bit less.

id pay 500-1500 at most because u cannot drive it home.

i bought my first supra in Boston and it was so cancered up (rusted) that when i went to jack the car up for the bhg that the lip you use to jack up imports crumbled and large chunks fell off. so that is a HUGE concern from a car coming from that part of the country.

Your right, I'll have to wait and see till tomorrow when i see the car in person to asess what it's really worth. I'll take my camera along to snap some pics and post.
