I have an '87 NA and just purchased a set of seatbelt guides. My car didn;t come with the seatbelt guides originally, so I'd like to know how/if these mount on to my seats. Has anyone done this before, and if so what Part Numbers did you need to complete the task. All help is greatly appreciated.

If I remember right it's not an easy task. The upper head rest on the 87 set does not have the bolts/brackets mounted that will let you do this easily. So if you want to make it work right, you need to take the leather/padding off the seat, and either drill holes and tack nut plates in the right spots or completely swap out the upper portion of the seat with an 89+ version. Either way, it's way too much work for seat belt guides.

one time on the forums i thought i was getting seatbelt guides, instead they were the things on the bottom side of the seat for the seatbelt clip. Technically.. yes they were seatbelt guides, but I payed $25 and just wished i asked for a pic.

I know I bought the right item, but I thought they would be easier to install. I've bought may parts from DMLSUPRA and he told me that he would send me the upper pieces and brackets when he sells the other pair of seats. If he doesn't I need to know how they can be installed. Taking the covers off isn't a problem since I'm reupholstering the seats anyway.

If I bought the brakets and bolds, cut the holes in the new leather for the bolts to go through, Will I be able to mount them correctly on my 87 seats? Is the foam entirely different on the 88+ seats?

Once you take the leather and foam off the upper part of the seat you'll see what you need to do to make it work, you'll just need to put some holes in the new leather for the bolts to go through, if you have a salvage yard near, go down and find an newer version with the seat belt guides, cut it away and see how they mount up. G/L.
