When the car sits at idle it makes a clicking noise coming from the motor but you cant hear it when the rpms start to come up cause whole engine gets louder or it goes away. My friend who helped build the motor and has alot of experiance with built motors, specialy 7m's and 2jz's said its something along the lines of the lifters or something to do with the valve train. And ive heard it in many built motors so im not that worried, i was really wondering if someone knows what im talking about and can elaborate. Im no were near an expert when it comes to engine noises and what they are exactly. I just spent 5grand on the built motor i got in the car and its already got 2000+ miles on it so it should be broke in. Its just im super freakin paranoid about something seriously going wrong cause ive had rod knock in the past on a different supra. There are other noises that come from my car that i know what they are, like the whining from the worn rear diff. and the abused throw out bearing on the w58 makes noise sometime when holding in the clutch pedal. I changed the oil at 1600miles and no metal shaving or anything just clean good oil. I drove from Toledo, Ohio to Sanford North Carolina yestarday and my turbo is just starting to go but it leaks alittle oil over time, well after 678miles straight i checked the oil the next morning and it was at the low mark, when the day before when i did the oil change it was at the full mark, so i went directly to the nearest autozone and got 3 more quaters of valvoline racing vr1 20w50 (what ive been running in the car since the built motor) and added a quart and it was at full again so i hope being a quart low didnt cause any problems. i got the extra quarts cause tommarow i drive back.

Hey neo, still want your old diff? ill trade ya rear ends? That noise that your talkin about sounds like valvetrain area at the front of the motor. Its sounds like clicking noise.
