Nearly got killed by an old POS Mazda pickup

Recently ran into this thing - didn't think anything of it until it kept up with me through 2nd & 3rd gear. It was an old pile of junk - 1970 series mazda pickup, rusted bed, faded blue paint, total sleeper. It had at least a three inch exhaust and what sounded like a turbo rx7 engine in it - turns out it's the 'shop truck' for one of the local speed shops.

Just proves that you never can tell...

Essentially - I wasn't intending it to be a race, I just wanted in front of him to change lanes... and he wasn't having any of that. Well, I got in front eventually, but I was deep in 3rd before I pulled ahead. Talked to him a bit afterwards, that's how I found out it's a shop truck.

That is wicked! I've heard there is a Mazda truck with a 5.0 running around here.
