I have a small pool of oil underneath the engine, it is leaking at a good drip every second. It seems to be coming from the top side of the engine as it is on the thermostat housing, back of the water neck. Almost looks like its coming from the front of the valve cover where it meets the #1 cam cap but its hard to believe that it could leak that much oil that fast. There is oil all down the hydraulic timing belt tensioner and under the front main, but it is only on the turbo side of the oil pan. The intake side is bone dry, and if it was the front main I would assume it would soak the front of the oil pan evenly or atleast fling it to the intake side of the engine. Has anyone experienced a cam seal leak or valve cover gasket leak that was this fast? Its the last thing between me and this 2JZ swap on the road. BTW im running fully synthetic mobil 1 10w30, i know its been known to leak easier. And I redid the valve cover seals with RTV instead of the original rubber gaskets, but it doest seem to be that bad of leak by looking at it.

tommorow im just going to start the car up and watch it, if its leaking that fast I should be able to see it. I didnt mess with the cam seal at all though which is why I cant believe its that, if its the headgasket pissing oil im gonna shit on the engine. I've seen a saab do that before but come on this is a 2JZ.

It's very possible that the cam seal is not positioned properly. I would take the valve cover off, and inspect the front cam seal.

x2 replacing most of my seals before my engine goes in

Nah it was as I suspected, the turbo side valve cover was leaking a good stream of oil from where it seals over the main cam cap. Just slathered a bunch of black rtv on the outside and it quit haha.

So..... the cam seal then?

No it was the valve cover seal where it goes over the front cam cap. I didnt think it was the cam seals or the front main as I never messed with those, and I know factory seals will seep over time but ive never seen them flow oil out like that lol. I've got a new issue though, ill make a diff thread about it.
