NA Tach Conversion to 7M-GTE

I'm converting my 89 7M-GTE to work with a 86 non-turbo shell. I'm having problems with the gas, temperature, oil and tach gauges. I was wondering if anyone has done the resistor mod to the NA tach? it's listed on this page http://www.4cefed.com/conversion.html

Just wondering if anyone has actually done this, or thoughts on it before I try it.

Yeah a buddy of mine has converted a few, but it's literally plug and play if you just swap in a turbo tach, which is what I opted to do on my 89 when I swapped it..

Resistor change was easy- took literally 5 minutes to do.

Cool, thanks for the replies. I'm going to try the resistor change since I'm familiar with chip work. If it doesn't work I'll go source out a turbo tach.
