I've been thinking for a while now about doing a turbo engine swap into my 89 NA, but was wondering if i could (safely) turbo my NA and get the same (or a little less) performance as a 7mgte.

Here's the deal, though. My 7mge has 177k mi on it, and I'm wondering if I'd blow something up putting a turbo on it.

Would it be safe to put a T3/T4 60-1 turbo on my NA? And as far as the differences go, are there any serious changes from the NA engine compared to the T engine that I couldn't make to the NA?

This topic has been posted about many times do a search to find out specfics and check out www.mkIIItech.com. First thing to know is that you should pick up a turbo wiring harness and ECU and CPS Coils and that should get ya started. Thats kinda high miles to go on but it all Depends on the condition of the motor like rings bearings Valves Headgasket and your Fuel system. But as far as do a NA-T setup check this out http://www.7mpower.com/bryson_kriz.shtml he is well into the 4's and close to 500 on a na motor.
