N/A cam upgrade

i was wondering does it matter what year the N/A intake cam comes out of? do they all have the same lift? and how much more lift does it have then the turbo intake cam? is this upgrade really worth the trouble???????????? all info would be appreciated :icon_razz

The N/a camshafts are so cheap and easy to find in junkyards, I think it doesn't hurt much to try it out. Plus you get to adjust your valves, which is probably more worthwhile than the cam swap.

But to sum it up, let's put it this way. If you want better engine response and fuel mileage while using low gas pump octane (under 92 or so), and low boost levels use the N/a camshaft.

If you're building a "fast hobby car" that lives on big turbos, high octane gas, etc. than the stock turbo cam is a better choice.

But with a 10 hp difference in a 3700+ lb car (with driver) you'd be lucky to feel anything either way.
