So I had a very busy morning today. Ran a ton of errands and almost made it home to get to work on time. I had a two gallon jug of gas waiting for me at home. So close.

Would have been on time for work had I made it another mile or so. Car died 3 separate times before it finally wouldn't start.

I've been low, I've seen the low fuel light, but I've never run out!
I've never run out in my Honda either, and never seen the low fuel light come on in it. I've had the needle below "E". I wonder if the light doesn't work, and I was lucky and fueled up just in time, or if that margin of error is built in..

I come from a land down under
I always go out with a Jerry can and run a new car dry to find out how many Km's from E and how many from the fuel low light I can get.
(Supra went minimum 50Km's from the fuel light coming on)

Even using the MoTeC to calculate fuel burn I still did this to confirm how far it would go.

haha dude your my hero, you don't hide your fuck ups. You display them proudly lol.

lol, not only that but he went out of his way to post a thread, upload and host the videos to do so. Truely a better man than I.

Not only I ran out in my truck last year. My own stupid fault. I was thinking, "oh its only 15 mins down the highway, ill be alright" Well I got to about 1/4 mile before the exit and poof, trucks dies at 60mph. So I coast of the exit, and end up with no momentum left a total of no more than a block away from the gas station. A longer walk might have smartened me up, I still live dangerously.

once on a trip my light came on, so I pulled over, opened the hood, checked the engine (it was still there) closed hood, sat down to make a phone call and the light was off. I guess it wanted me to make sure it was there. Made the rest of the drive without a problem

Haha, glad you guys are getting a kick out of it.

I knew I was cutting it really close. I can tell about where true empty is because I've filled up a few times and put in 16.5 gallons. I know it doesn't run with much less than 1.5 gallons, but in 6 years of driving this is the first time I actually ran out.
